Frequently asked questions

What servers does HostAlerts work with?
Any server running cPanel/WHM version 100 or newer. This includes shared hosting servers, VPS, and dedicated servers from any provider — AWS, DigitalOcean, Hetzner, OVH, etc.
What's the difference between shared and personal bot?
The shared bot (@DomainAndServerBot) works instantly — zero Telegram setup. Personal bot mode lets you create your own bot via @BotFather for full white-label branding (your company name, your bot avatar). Available on Pro and Enterprise plans.
How do I install it?
SSH into your WHM server as root and run: bash <(curl -sSL hostalerts.domainandserver.com/install). That's it. The installer handles everything — file placement, hook registration, cron setup, and permissions.
Can I send alerts to a Telegram group?
Yes! You can send alerts to private chats, groups, supergroups, or channels. The setup wizard helps you find the correct chat ID for any of these.
Is my data safe?
Absolutely. Alert data is transmitted over HTTPS. Your bot tokens and API keys are stored with restricted file permissions (0600) on your server. We never store your Telegram messages — we relay them and forget.
Can I uninstall it cleanly?
Yes. Run bash /usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/telegram_alerts/uninstall.sh and everything is removed — files, hooks, cron jobs, and AppConfig registration.

Stop refreshing. Start getting alerts.
